The official Bent County-Las animas Cemetery District Resolution
On the 2nd day of September, 1947, the following Resolution has unanimously been adopted.
Whereas, petitions have been presented to the Board, Proposing the creation of the Bent County-Las Animas Cemetery District, compromising a part of Bent County described as follows:
Beginning at the NW corner of section 6, Township 21 South, Township 27 South, Range 53, West Township 27 South, Range 48 West of the 6th PM, Thence North to the SE corner of Section 36, Township 23 South, Range 48 West if the 6th PM, Thence West to the SW Corner of Section 31,
Township 34 South, Range 50 West of the 6th PM, Thence North to the NM Corner or Section 6, Township 21 South, Range 50 West of the 6th PM, Thence West to the Point of Beginning.
Whereas, the Board has carefully examined said petitions and is now convinced that more than 50% of the taxpaying electors or said District appear thereon, and that said District should be created.
Now, Therefore, we the Board of the County Commissioners of Bent County, Colorado, do hereby declare said District created and appoint the following as the first Board of Directors, Theron:

The Board of Directors shall each year, elect a president and secretary from among it's members.
