Decoration of Lots and Burial Spaces
No live flowers or shrubs shall be planted or cultivated on any burial space at any time. Live flowers in pots maybe placed in the approved cement holders at the side of the monument.
Under no circumstances may glass vases be placed on the ground.
In the areas where there is a main memorial and secondary flush memorial, there is to be no planting and no vases in front of the secondary flush memorial.
Artificial or fresh cut flowers may be placed in a metal vase at any time. However, they will be discarded when dead, faded, broken or of similar nature. Such a vase must be set in concrete with minimum if three (3) inch border and within six (6) inches of monument or be an actual part of the monument. The crew shall install the vases. Sprays and wreaths made from fresh cut flowers are allowed but they will be removed within two weeks or sooner if they become unsightly or detrimental in the Sexton's opinion.
Christmas wreaths are permitted from December 1st through January 31st. All Decorations for the other holidays are allowed 7 days prior to the holiday and to be removed within 7 days after the holiday. The Cemetery Sexton shall order the removal of all artificial sprays and wreaths when they become unsightly or are blown off the burial spaces.
The placing of the boxes, shells, stones, boulders, toys,metal designs, ornaments, chairs, settees, unattached vases, glass urns, fences wood or metal cases and similar articles upon lots or burial spaces shall not be permitted. All lighting or music, including, but not limited to solar will not be approved. No artificial lighting or music is allowed.
The BC-LA Cemetery District shall issue the rules of decorating the lots and burial spaces at the time a lot or burial space is sold and again when the deed is issued.
The BC-LA Cemetery District shall not be liable for lost, misplaced or broken flower vases, or for the damage caused by the elements, thieves, vandals, or by causes beyond it's control. The BC-LA Cemetery District reserves the right to regulate the method of decorating lots and the right to remove decorations so that a uniform beautiful LOT may be maintained. .
A small American flag may be displayed when it is customarily displayed. At the expiration of three (3) days, the BC-LA Cemetery District may remove such flag without liability for it's safe keeping.
